Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi has directed NADRA to take immediate action to identify and hold accountable those involved in the recent attack on former Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa’s vehicle in London. Condemning the incident as “distressing,” Naqvi instructed authorities to identify the attackers through video footage and initiate legal proceedings against them, including filing FIRs in Pakistan.
According to Express News, the minister emphasized that the attackers’ identification cards will be blocked, and their passports revoked. Naqvi further assured that swift action regarding the citizenship of those involved will be taken, with cases presented to the cabinet for final approval.
“Such attacks cannot be tolerated,” Naqvi stated, highlighting a prior incident involving the Pakistani High Commission in London and raising concerns about the lack of security for former CJP Isa, who had previously faced threats.
The ex-Chief Justice concluded his Supreme Court tenure last Thursday, departing under standard security protocols with protocol staff assigned to accompany him.
